Our Story

True Ferments began with a love for Korean culture and a curiosity for authentic food. As a K-drama enthusiast, I was always drawn to kimchi, but what I found at restaurants never quite felt right. That changed when I experienced authentic kimchi for the first time- fresh, balanced, and full of life. Inspired, I began learning traditional fermentation and started making my own vegetarian kimchi at home, staying true to its roots while adapting it thoughtfully.

I’m Lalitha Kasturi, the founder of True Ferments. What started as a personal passion soon grew into something more as friends and family kept asking for my kimchi. I realized that truly authentic, well-made fermented food was hard to find, and it deserved to be shared. True Ferments is my way of bringing handcrafted, honest, and flavorful ferments to more people, made with care, tradition, and clean ingredients.
